Brooks Koepka laughs off question about Manchester United takeover ahead of The Open

Golfer Brooks Koepka and Manchester United both face uncertain futures.

As a LIV Golf player, it is not entirely clear where Koepka will ply his trade if the deal between the Saudi Public Investment Fund and the PGA Tour goes through.

Man United, meanwhile, are yet to find new owners after the unpopular Glazers announced their decision to 'explore strategic alternatives' in November 2022.

As it happens, Koepka is a Red Devils supporter - and after fending off numerous questions about LIV Golf and the overall state of the game, he was asked about a possible intervention in United's ownership situation.

He laughed and joked: "I could use a little more money, yeah.

"But I think that's out of my price range."

Koepka is a known-admirer of the UK's golf scene, despite never winning The Open, but that isn't the only thing he loves about the British Isles.

It turns out the American also has a passion for... brown sauce.

When elaborating on United, he said: "I had Rory [McIlroy's] tickets. They're good seats. It was either 2014 or 2015, I went to Old Trafford and it was pretty cool.

"I think it was the week of the Ryder Cup and I wasn't playing. It was awesome and I had a great time.
